Surfing Board Type Introduction for Beginners

　　Surfing board is one of the most important equipment for surfing. Before you decide to buy your board, be sure to know your surfing habits, uses and general surfing conditions. For beginners, it is necessary to find experienced people to help you choose a board.

　　Surfing boards are generally divided into the following categories:

　　Shortboard: short board, small board. Length is 5 feet 9 to 6 feet 8, head is sharp triangle, buoyancy is small, need thrust enough, shape good waves to play happily, belongs to the technical board, flexible steering, can do fancy action.

　　2. Longboard: Long board. The length is between 8 feet, 6 feet and 11 feet. The head is semi-circular, buoyant, slow, and small waves can also play. It is suitable for Taiwan's summer wave conditions and beginners'practice.

　　3. Funshape/Minitank/Mini Mal: Firm name, funny board, small long board. It looks like Longboard, but it's between 7 feet and 8 feet and 6 feet in length. In recent years, Longboard has been improved. Because the board is shorter than Longboard, it has the advantages of Longboard. It can also play with big buoyancy and small waves, but it is slightly smaller in size and flexible in action. It is very suitable for Taiwan's wave situation throughout the year.

　　4. The Gun: Some people call it gun board, or big wave board. The length is close to Longboard, but the tip of the head and tail is the fastest. It's used to flush between 10 and 30 feet. Taiwan is rarely used. It may only have the opportunity to show Gun's power in the eastern coast or before typhoons.

　　5. The Fish: Fish plate, but it may be called "big belly plate", which is between 5 feet 6 and 6 feet 11 in length. Basically, it's a kind of Shortboard. The board is usually wider and thicker than Shortboard. When Taiwan's summer wave recedes, Fish's buoyancy is slightly greater and easier than Shortboard's in the small wave. Generally speaking, the longer and thicker the board, the easier it is to start, but the more difficult it is to make beautiful movements.
